Ornaghi & Prestinari. Grigio Lieve
The exhibition Grigio Lieve by Ornaghi & Prestinari, displayed at Casa Morandi, the house of Giorgio Morandi, from January 21 until March 12, 2017 and curated by Roberto Pinto, stems from the idea to create sculptures from the shadows in Giorgio Morandi’s paintings. Thanks to the virtual reconstruction of his studio through a special 3D-rendering software, the artists were able to reproduce the paintings’ settings and their specific object arrangements in order to seize the hidden sights and use them to model object-free shadow cones. The making-of process of the Plasticine® sculptures was photographed and shot in a video, both on display. This piece is a reflection on light and the layering generated by the passing of time, on sculpture seen as a tool combined to an attitude, on light as surface-shaping element, drawing volumes and shadows in intangible images.
Grigio Lieve is part of the fifth edition of ART CITY Bologna will take place, a unique programme of exhibitions, events and special initiatives promoted by the Municipality of Bologna in cooperation with BolognaFiere, coordinated by the Istituzione Bologna Musei on the occasion of Arte Fiera.
