Starting from the legacy of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Bologna and its acquisitions (with works of art referring to a wide range of time, from Eighteenth Century to present day), MAMbo sets the goal to integrate research activity and experimentation with the importance and quality of a former, precious collection. This one will benefit by a specific space inside the new museum, that could allow a conscious and critical review of the Gallery's masterpieces. A particular attention will be dedicated to the culture and history of the region which Bologna is part of, and also to its great arts tradition.

MAMbo - Museo d'Arte Moderna

MAMbo's collection has been created with the aim of producing, promoting and collecting the young Italian art. Thanks to the precious contribute of Unicredit Group and of the Region Emilia Romagna MAMbo has engaged new and important collaborations to support and promote the contemporary culture.
In specific, through the business acumen of UniCredit Group, the cultural research of MAMbo will be able to select, sponsor and purchase works of young artists for the purpose of creating an important permanent collection of Italian art within the spaces of the Ex Forno del Pane
