Alexandre Hollan "Silences en couleurs"

Museo Morandi
9 October 2011 - 5 February 2012

Subtle affinities link Hollan to Morandi: the preference for still lives that the Hungarian artist calls “vies silencieuses” in analogy with the English term or the Hungarian one csendélet, compositions where the subjects acquire an imposing aspect, fill the surrounding area, go beyond the limits of the paper sheet, sometimes opening in depths that cancel the boundary between outside and inside. Thus, Hollan doesn't choose between representation and abstraction, but thanks to the lesson of Morandi he uses the natural facts to reach the essence of things.
The itinerary is made up of 57 works (watercolors, acrylics, gouaches and drawings) realized between 1984 and 2010.

Free opening day Saturday 8th October from h 11.00am to h 08.00pm.
