Tempo e composizione illustrates how, in the approach to everyday objects, the space in the landscapes, the fabric flowers, Morandi identified compositions of elementary geometry made up of cubes, cylinders, spheres and triangles in which to express the essence of the respective visible qualities. On the canvas, the artist stripped the object of all superfluous elements to offer us, clearly, the feeling of what is visible. The formal rigour in Morandi's still lifes is accompanied by a silent and contemplative atmosphere, in particular in the famous “flowers”.
