Disponibilità della cosa
A work by
Stefano Arienti and Cesare Pietroiusti with the collaboration of
Paolo Bergmann
On April 5th, 2008 Stefano Arienti and Cesare Pietroiusti started to create Disponibilità della cosa (Availability of the thing), a sculpture consisting entirely of 50 euro banknotes, produced and displayed during the exhibition Regali e regole. Prendere, dare, sbirciare nel museo (which closed on June 29th, 2008) and currently kept in the MAMbo.
Resulting from the collaboration between the two artists, the work unites characteristic elements of both: Arienti’s folded card sculptures and Pietroiusti’s experiments to modify banknotes converge in a completely innovative object in a continuing evolution. Disponibilità della cosa avails itself of the contribution of a series of people who, voluntarily, intend to give a contribution to the creation and the growth of the work, tying themselves to its fate. In fact, subscribing to one or more shares, each worth 50 euro, the contributors adhere to a co-participation pact with the two authors for any profit which may derive from the undertaking, according to what is established in the contract that can be consulted on this page.
For each banknote handed in, the subscribers receive a “Conferment Certificate”, numbered and authenticated by the authors, that will be convertible into an established share of the surplus value that the work will acquire in the case of its sale. The number of subscriptions reached during the period the exhibition was open was approximately 120, but it is still possible to take part in the project by contacting Uliana Zanetti, the coordinator of SpazioGAM, at the following telephone number and e-mail address: tel. 051 6496609 – e-mail: uliana.zanetti@comune.bologna.
In this page you will find the occasions on which Stefano Arienti and Cesare Pietroiusti will meet to further promote the collection of funds.
